Step-by-Step

For FSW-O applicants who are physically inside Canada on a valid TRV while their COPR decision is finalizing:

  1. Submit a webform once you receive an RFV (Request for Visa) or PPR informing IRCC you're inside Canada, and request virtual landing rather than returning home to get your passport stamped.

  2. Understand the trade-off: once you receive your eCOPR, your TRV becomes invalid. Plan your travel and any trips outside Canada around this, since you'll lose your temporary status the moment the electronic COPR is issued.

This lets applicants already in Canada avoid an extra trip home just to complete the physical landing formality.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Do: Raise a webform requesting virtual landing once you have an RFV/PPR and are already inside Canada on a valid TRV.
  • Tip: Your TRV becomes invalid the moment you receive your eCOPR — plan any travel or status gaps around that.
