If your NOC (in this case Mechanical Engineer / manufacturing supervisor codes) hasn't seen provincial invitations recently, the group's advice was to look beyond the largest provinces toward ones known for issuing invitations in manufacturing/engineering fields.
What group members advised:- Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and New Brunswick were named as provinces with better possibilities for these NOCs, compared to some of the larger, more competitive provinces.
- New Brunswick has a notable option for students: if you study in New Brunswick, it's possible to get nominated for PR even before completing your course, under certain streams — worth researching directly if you're open to a study pathway rather than direct-entry PNP.
- Don't assume invitation patterns are static — provinces adjust their in-demand occupation lists periodically based on local labour market needs, so what's true today may change.
Because provincial nomination criteria and in-demand occupation lists change over time, check each province's current PNP occupation list directly (Manitoba's Skilled Worker stream, Saskatchewan's SINP, New Brunswick's NBPNP) before deciding where to focus your efforts.
