A computer engineer (NOC 2147) with 72 points in PEI's PNP asked whether there's a points cutoff for an ITA. Members reframed the question:
- Without a job offer, expect little. The candid consensus: it's very difficult to get a PEI invitation without a job offer — points alone rarely carry it. Another member added that applicants with no ties to the province tend not to be selected at all.
- The workaround: target designated Atlantic employers. The constructive suggestion — find the designated employers in the Atlantic provinces, apply to them directly, and even call to ask about vacancies. A member's friend recently landed a job precisely this way, which then unlocks the provincial/Atlantic pathways.
- Stay in the Express Entry pool in parallel. Keep your EE profile active (the poster had ECA and EE done) so that a provincial nomination or job offer can convert quickly, and so you remain visible for other draws while job-hunting.
