A candidate asked whether provinces find you through Express Entry or whether you must apply directly.
- It works both ways. Provinces do select profiles straight from the EE pool, but you can also file an Expression of Interest (EOI) directly with a province - and the group's advice was to file EOIs rather than wait passively.
- Make your Express Entry profile first. Several provincial streams key off it, and it's the base for the enhanced-nomination path.
- You can file EOIs with multiple provinces at the same time, but only where you genuinely meet that province's minimum requirements. Ontario, for example, allows one EOI per stream - filing while ineligible wastes the chance.
- Quebec and Saskatchewan run their own EOI systems - you create a separate profile and submit an expression of interest on their platforms.
- Ontario can also send notifications of interest through your EE account without a job offer - watch both channels.
