If your CRS score sits around 390 and you've selected provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan as preferred destinations in your Express Entry profile, group advice was:
- Work on increasing your CRS score directly — retaking language tests for a higher band score or gaining additional work experience are the usual levers, since a higher CRS improves your chances across the board (federal draws and PNP-linked EE streams alike).
- For Saskatchewan specifically, selecting it in your EE profile isn't enough on its own. SINP runs its own separate points-based Expression of Interest system on the provincial portal, with different criteria than Express Entry CRS. You need to create a distinct SINP account and check their website for current requirements.
- This means your EE profile with Alberta/Saskatchewan selected covers the possibility of being contacted directly by those provinces, but doesn't replace applying to SINP's own portal if you want to actively pursue that route.
Check each province's own immigration website for its current points grid and application process, since these change independently of federal Express Entry rules.
