Can you have two active PNP applications with different provinces at the same time?

Step-by-Step

If you have one Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) application already under review (e.g., SINP International Skilled Worker) and receive a new provincial invitation through the Express Entry pool, you cannot pursue both at the same time.

What group members advised:
  1. You cannot apply for two PNP programs simultaneously. Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) to a second province while one is still active with another creates a direct conflict.

  2. Having two provinces actively processing your file contradicts your stated intentions and can create complications in your file — provinces expect you to have decided which one you intend to settle in. Since SINP alone can take close to a year to decide, weigh that timeline carefully before deciding which province to commit to.

The safer path is to decide which province you actually want to go with, and only pursue the second option once you've formally withdrawn from (or received a decision on) the first — don't try to keep both alive at once by answering the EE portal's cross-application question inaccurately.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Don't: Don't submit an EOI to a second province while another provincial application is actively under review.
  • Tip: Factor in that some provincial streams (like SINP) can take close to a year to decide before choosing which province to commit to.
