I'm here as a Provincial Nominee living in Canada who has applied for PR. I received a request for biometrics in July 2020 but none of the Service Canada centres were open to take them. Then there was an update saying that PR applicants living in Canada who have had Biometrics taken in the past 10 years do not need to have them taken. I now have just read something that says that since November 2020 that Service Canada is open and biometrics should now be taken. I have made my appointment for tomorrow, but I am wondering I need to have them taken. I am reading conflicting information. Any ideas please?

Do you still need biometrics if you already gave them, given the pandemic-era exemption?
I'm not sure if I understand your question but. If you have done your biometric less than 10years ago then you don't need.. but I think you haven't since you received a request for it. If you were able to book an appointment, then that means they are open. Goodluck
Sravya Reddye here! I had given my biometrics back in 2019 and was still asked to give my biometrics. After the exemption was announced I received my refund also. But still went to give my biometrics on 15 Jan.
