Hi guys. I need help with my situation for applying canadian citizenship for my minor kids aged 7 and 9. Thereis aquestion in the application fkr minor which states " has the minor stayed 730 days outside canada in past 5 years or since becoming permanent residence?" my situation is that my kids landed as permanent resident in dec 2021 and left canada in january 2022 to complete their school year and thereafter returned permanently to canada in june 2023. I am applying for my citizenship in February, 2024 and I am confused, what should I answer to the above question?

Citizenship form for minors: answering the '730 days outside Canada' question
Aafia Hashmi they became pr since they landed and got their pr card ! So it simple have they stayed outside Canada for the number of days they asked you . ? Nothing confusing here. It a straight answer . Cos for u to apply for citizenship. You should have stayed minimum 730days ( 2years) out of 5 years ! Not straight at once .cumulative. so u too. Ask urself are u elligible for citizenship application?
Aafia Hashmi and even from what u wrote above. Ur kids have only stayed in Canada for about 6months. U can only apply for their citizenship around mid 2025 whe they have spent 730days! Who told u to apply for citizenship for them now when they have not met the required criteria ??
Aafia Hashmi since PR if they stay outside of Canada for total of 730 days or more then answer is “Yes” else answer is “No”
Aafia Hashmi the answer would be yes since minors were not physically present in canada in the past 5 years or since PR.
Pra Gya since PR they didnt stay outside canada but in the past 5 years yes they have.
The first condition applies to me, where they dnt have to stay for 3 years.
