My company wants to keep me too but HR has a concern that it might be illegal. Is there a way out? And is it really illegal? My wife has the same situation and she was able to work as in Independent Contractor. It is completely legal. PM me if you need any information
My company's HR(local) has rejected my transfer despite being having a office there. In your case you need to pay taxes in both countries.
You can work from Canada. It's no illegal, however, you need to declare your global income and may be taxed.
