The forms which are accepted as pdf should be signed, some forms are not accepted as PDFs therefore can be signed electronically.

I don't know about the e signature, but for my application I signed them manually before uploading them.

You can e-sign i.e. insert a picture of signature on paper instead of signing with virtual pen.
