Hello everyone, Hoping everyone is doing good. I came to canada for Jan’23 intake and currently enrolled in Sault College. My program will ends in August’23 while i have my study permit till April’23. Now i have to file study permit extension for the same. I want to know can I file the extension on my current LOA or do i have to apply for second year course, get LOA of the same and then only i can file. Someone said that you only file your extension when you get your LOA for second year course. I am too confused. Please guide Kubeir Kamal sir !

Study permit expires mid-program: extend now with your current LOA — don't wait for next year's letter
Abdullah Farhan if your study permit expires before your studies that's the only option you have. Don't listen to what random people say.your study permit is your status in Canada how can you study on expired status?
Tejraj Shah Exactly bro. Applying and getting LOA for second year course is secondary. Priority is to retain my status and to continue my studies. Thanks a lot brother
In your case use the same LOA and letter from the college indicating that you are a student in good standing and then along with funds apply for extension
You need to file a study permit extension first before April and then once again once you get a LOA for either fall or next winter
Tejraj Shah It is the misinformation that I cannot file extension with my current LOA ?
