CanadaStudy Permit1Hello All, I wanted to check that I applied for extension for my son 10y study permit it will expire on 17 Jan 2024. I still haven’t got any update so what happens if I didn’t get any approval before expiration? We have work permit expiring in Nov 2024. Thanks Edit: I called IRCC and they sent me an email saying that my son is on *Maintained status - Temporary resident* and until the extension response comes he can continue his study. Thanks All.

Ur child can study as u have already applied and as the result is awaited he can study by submitting receipt which u have received while applying. Same happened with me and it works
Chro T. Fatah thanks but I think visit visa may also take same or longer if I apply today surely would not arrive before 17th then what? Much appreciate your response.
I don’t think is going to be a problem but you can still apply for visitor record before 17th while waiting for his study permit extension
