Submitted a webform for an additional document and heard nothing after 12 days — is that normal?

Step-by-Step

If you've submitted a webform to add an extra document to your study permit application and haven't received the automated acknowledgment yet:

  1. Expect the automated confirmation to take longer than a couple of weeks. Members in this thread reported waiting anywhere from about a month up to 40 days before getting the automated response.

  2. Don't assume something is wrong just because IRCC's phone line is unreachable. Their contact number being hard to get through on is common and isn't itself a sign your webform failed.

  3. Avoid submitting duplicate webforms for the same document while waiting — this can create confusion in your file rather than speeding things up.

If it's been well over a month with no acknowledgment at all, that's the point to try IRCC's web form status inquiry again rather than earlier.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Tip: The automated webform acknowledgment can take a month or more to arrive — it isn't instant.
  • Don't: Don't submit repeat webforms for the same document just because you haven't heard back within a couple of weeks.
