If your immigration medical exam has expired and you're travelling to Canada soon on a study permit:
- A valid medical exam is generally required at the time you enter Canada, so an expired one can be a problem even if it was valid when you first applied.
- Check exactly what you're travelling on. If you only have a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) stamp in your passport and this is your first time travelling to Canada, you will likely need to redo the medical exam (a "re-med"), since the original may no longer be considered current.
- If you already hold the actual study permit (not just the TRV), your situation may differ — confirm directly with IRCC or a regulated immigration consultant whether a new medical is required before you travel.
- Book any required re-med with a panel physician well before your travel date, since medical exam results can take time to process and be linked to your file.
