If you've submitted an Express Entry profile and can't create an account on the IRCC Application Status Tracker even though your details (UCI, application number, etc.) look correct, group members pointed to two common causes.
What group members advised:- Check your UCI format. If your UCI starts with the letters "CAN" (an older-style client ID), the tracker registration won't go through — this format isn't accepted by the online system.
- Wait for your UCI to update. After you submit, it can take some time for your UCI to be fully updated on your profile in IRCC's system. Trying to register before that update completes can cause the same registration failure.
- Members also asked for your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) date and whether your application is inland or outland, since these affect expected processing timelines and can help pinpoint whether the issue is just a timing delay or something that needs to be flagged to IRCC.
If registration still fails after your UCI has clearly updated, it's worth raising the issue with IRCC directly via a webform rather than continuing to retry.
