A couple preparing an EE submission ahead of an expected PNP-draw ITA hit a documentation snag: the spouse works in a city 1.5 hours from home, has changed rentals repeatedly over 10 years with no rental contracts ever issued, and returns home every weekend. How to handle PCCs?
- Run the PCC against the documented home address. The thread's practical consensus: get the PCC for the hometown, where proof of residence exists. One member was blunt — there's no need to present the weekday work-city arrangement as a separate residence at all, since he maintained his home base throughout.
- PCC follows your official/passport address in many countries. A member noted PCCs are issued against the address on record (e.g., in the passport); where the passport shows no address, fall back to the address you can document.
- Don't manufacture an addresses problem you can't document. With no rental contracts, attempting to declare 10 years of undocumented work-city addresses creates verification questions with nothing to back them. The home address — continuously maintained, weekend-occupied, documented — is the defensible answer for both the PCC and the address history.
Caveat: address-history rules on the actual IRCC forms require listing where you've lived; members' advice here is about which address anchors the
PCC, not about hiding history. If in doubt on the forms, keep the history truthful and let the PCC follow the documented base.
