Missed your Express Entry Notification of Interest (NOI) window? What to do next

Step-by-Step

For candidates who missed responding to a provincial Notification of Interest (NOI) tied to their Express Entry profile, the group's advice was consistent and blunt:

  1. There is no way to "redo" a missed or expired NOI on the same profile. Once the window passes, that specific NOI opportunity is gone.

  2. You cannot receive a second NOI on the same profile. IRCC/provincial systems won't re-trigger a new interest notification for a profile that already had one.

  3. The recommended path is to create a fresh Express Entry profile. A new profile can generate a new NOI opportunity later, but your old profile is effectively done for this purpose.

This is disappointing but a real constraint of how the system works — the practical move is to set up a new profile (updating your details, since scores/circumstances may have changed) rather than waiting on the old one.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Don't: Don't keep waiting on an expired NOI — the same profile won't get a second one.
  • Do: Create a new Express Entry profile to remain eligible for future NOIs, updating your details as needed.
