Got asked to redo your medical but can't find where to upload the receipt? Here's what to do

Documents Needed

  • Medical exam receipt/tracking slip

Submit via IRCC webform if there's no direct upload field on your profile for it.

Step-by-Step

A repeat medical exam request can be confusing if there's no obvious place in your online profile to upload the new receipt or confirmation.

What group members said:
  1. A common reason for the re-medical request is simply that your previous exam has expired — medicals are generally valid for one year, so if enough time has passed since your original exam, a new one is expected.

  2. If you proactively completed a new medical exam on your own (before IRCC formally requested it), IRCC may not automatically know about it. In that case, send the receipt/slip through the IRCC webform, and follow up with a phone call to make sure it's linked to your file, since there may be no automatic profile field for it.

Don't assume the system will pick up a self-initiated medical automatically — submitting proof via webform and calling to confirm it's attached to your application is the safer approach.

Dos, Don'ts & Tips

  • Do: Submit your medical exam receipt/slip via IRCC's webform if there's no direct upload option in your profile.
  • Do: Call IRCC after submitting the webform to confirm the medical has been linked to your application.
  • Tip: Medical exams are generally valid for one year — check your exam date if you're asked to redo it.
