After receiving an ITA, applicants often aren't sure whether to list every past job in their work history or only the ones they have reference letters for.
What group members advised:- If you're claiming CRS points for a job, you must be able to document and show it — meaning you need the reference letter to support any job entered as qualifying work experience.
- Foreign work experience is capped at 3 years within the last 10 years for CRS purposes, so you only need to substantiate enough foreign experience to hit that cap — jobs beyond that don't need to be claimed for points, though you can still list them in your personal history.
The practical takeaway: declare your full personal/work history for completeness, but only claim CRS points for — and back with reference letters — the roles you can fully document, up to the 3-year foreign experience cap.
