If you got an Invitation to Apply (ITA) but realize your work experience was counted as full 2 years when part of it was actually part-time:
- Recalculate your CRS score honestly with the corrected experience. If you started part-time and only went full-time later, your qualifying full-time-equivalent experience may be less than IRCC's system assumed at the time of invitation.
- Update your application with the accurate information rather than proceeding with an inflated experience claim — misrepresenting experience can jeopardize your whole application.
- Check if your recalculated score still clears the cutoff for your round of invitations. If it does, you can generally proceed with your application as normal.
- If it doesn't, you may need to wait until you've genuinely accumulated the required continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience before your application will be assessed as eligible.
Accuracy matters more than speed here — submitting with correct experience details, even if it means waiting a few more months, protects you from a refusal or misrepresentation finding.
