An applicant with 10+ years of sales and marketing experience calculated a CRS of about 330 and asked whether Express Entry was worth pursuing. Members were candid:
- 330 won't get an ITA on its own. At the time of the thread the most recent draw cutoff was around 468 — far above the poster's score. (Historical note: draw cutoffs move constantly; check the current rounds of invitations before benchmarking.)
- PNPs are the main lever for low scores. Members suggested researching Provincial Nominee Programs, since some streams accept lower CRS profiles: "you will have to research each province to see what is best for your situation." A nomination adds 600 points to the EE profile, which effectively secures an invitation.
- The study route. Many people in this position instead enter Canada as students and build Canadian credentials/experience toward PR — mentioned as the other common path.
- French as a points booster. Fluency in French was suggested as worth roughly an extra 50 points which, combined with other factors, can meaningfully close the gap.
